Nancy and Don Lidster are partners in DNL Farms Ltd. Both grew up on mixed
farms in Saskatchewan and both
graduated from the University of
Saskatchewan with their BSc in
Agriculture degrees.
Don and Nancy worked in various Ag
related jobs before starting their own
hog operation in 1981. In 2001 they
emptied their barns to concentrate their
efforts on pork industry staff training.
In 1996, Nancy attended a 1 day Bud
Williams Stockmanship School which
dealt mostly with working cattle.
Using video from our barns and other
sources, Bud helped us learn how to
apply his methods and principles when
moving pigs.
Since 2001, Nancy has been sharing this
information with other people in the pork
industry from farms to packing plants.
She has gathered video of people working
pigs in a variety settings and uses this
video to demonstrate pig responses and
handling principles. Particular attention
is given to showcasing handlers getting
excellent results and using their example
to show others what is possible and how
to achieve it.
